Good News Bad News

No news is good news nowadays, they say. It is true. Somehow the news seems to worsen with time. This can be explained. News is bad because it reports how Lucifer, the fallen one, has corrupted the minds of people with evil and sin. People have fallen prey to lust, scandals, greed, murders and rapes. Political leaders are not able to collaborate in peace as they don’t like the other excelling in any field—jealousy. As long as sin remains, things aren’t going to get any better.

Every day we read or hear about tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes and other such disasters. But one rarely finds a report on the numerous humanitarian undertaken by some good souls to help out the people who have been stricken by the forces of nature. Sadly they don’t make the news and the faith is not brought to the masses that there is still good in the world. Good news is always replaced with coverage on war, economic crisis, scandals, deaths, epidemics etc.

When Jesus had asked Jeremiah what he saw, Jeremiah had replied that he saw nothing but a boiling pot—and so it has remained. The Middle East remains torn and ravaged by war, terrorism and internal conflicts.

The Bible explicitly mentions that it is shameful and sinful to speak and converse on things which people do in private. But the media has taken upon itself the responsibility to report on sexual escapades and conveniently avoid how governments and corporate companies continue to defraud people by keeping them in the dark and thus making a profit out of it.

People are so desperate to hear some good news that they are virtually begging for it. The good news can be found in the Bible. The Bible has a complete record of all sins and heir remedies. It contains the good news from the gospels. It contains the good news that Jesus loves us so dearly that he died so that God will forgive our sins. If we continue to love and be faithful to him then we cleanse ourselves of all sins. Good news is that faith and prayer can absolve all difficulties and ensure an eternal life in Paradise. This is exactly what one finds in Christian News in any Christian Newspaper—news pertaining to the Christian community and small snippets of sermons or excerpts from the holy scriptures for the purpose of guiding one’s soul towards a sin-free life.
